Mission

We help families to help their children thrive!

Vision

Helping children reach their full potential in the community.

If it is not possible for you to help in the aforementioned ways, you can always donate funds in the form of money or resources that will be used for general maintenance or for a specific project that you personally wish to support.

Fundraisers help communicate Nos Kasita’s mission to external stakeholders and maintain good relationships with donors. Fundraising involves undertaking various activities to collect the necessary money or resources for a specific purpose.

  • Annual basis SRD...

Volunteers are always welcome to use their talents and resources for the children in the Nos Kasita children's home.

We believe in building lasting relationships with all our volunteers regardless of how they help us. Volunteers who come on a regular basis achieve the most because they can build a bond with the children. But if this is not feasible for you, consider helping plan a sports day or other activity twice a year.

What we would appreciate most:

  • Games, music or other activities to help children develop self-esteem, self-confidence, discipline, order and responsibility.
  • Help with the school program, e.g. giving computer lessons or homework assistance.
  • Teach young people basic life skills that will help them understand life and themselves better, in which good communication and decision-making are an essential part.
  • Fundraising via social media, letters and approaching donors.
  • Support in cleaning and maintaining the building and grounds.
Will you come and help us as a volunteer?

Suriname

Suriname is a small country on the northeastern coast of South America. It's defined by vast swaths of tropical rainforest, Dutch colonial architecture and a melting-pot culture.

Suriname is not a densely populated country. 95% of the country is forest, which makes Suriname the world’s most densely forested country. The Surinamese population consists of diverse groups in terms of ethnicity, religion, culture and origins. Most of the population lives in Paramaribo, the capital city, where most of the cultural activities take place.

The children who find a home, permanently or temporarily, at Nos Kasita come from all the different ethnic groups found in Suriname. They all receive the same love and kindness. Most importantly they are encouraged to keep their cultural identity.
